The proposal was a perfect surprise! Joe proposed during a luau at the Royal Kona Resort on February 24, 2015, two days before Sara's birthday and six days before Joe and Sara's three-year anniversary! It was a complete surprise! Both Sara and Joe were pulled on stage during the luau to learn some dance moves and dance with the dancers. Joe was deemed "The Sacrifice" and danced with all of the hula girls. The emcee recognized birthdays in the audience, and pointed out Sara especially. She then invited both Sara and Joe back on stage and Sara thought they were going to have to dance again! Joe dropped on one knee and proposed in front of the entire audience! It was perfect!
